Undecided literally agreed with what i said dumbass

Is there something wrong with you?? No he did not.

Home owning is just a lot more upfront cost because you are having to maintain the property yourself.

Once your past that 30 years, that past mortgage payment is just money in the bank.

So a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings inaccurately judged Chappelle's morals based on parcels of information that did not give the full picture?

Not in the long run no, because there's no end to the rent. At least with a mortgage there is an ending in sight.

"According to the Dayton Daily News, Yellow Springs was working with Oberer Homes on a new development project of single-family homes, duplexes, and townhouses of which 1.75 acres would be set aside for more affordable housing. Chappelle joined other residents of the Yellow Springs community in opposing the plan. The council nixed the affordable housing component of the plan and agreed to construct 143 single-family homes with a starting price of approximately $300,000.

In a story on the development project published last December, Yellow Spring News (via Rolling Stone) reported that Chappelle lives close to the proposed location for the housing units. The comedian and other local residents who opposed the development “raised concerns over increased traffic, a lack of sidewalks and the general setup of the development.”

    starting at $300,000

But is he that wrong for not wanting Niggas to build section 8 esque housing near his…home after he put up $65 million of his own money to keep a certain standard? And then there’s the the article paragraph and local resident reply under the tweet that says the houses started at $250k-300k and they used pictures of his home as a selling point lol

It depends on you you look at it. From a short term, month to month basis, yes renting is cheaper. Long term 40+ years out, mortgage is cheaper because you're just pocketing your mortgage payment after 30 years.

When Chappelle invested and the developers made their master plan, which the city usually HAS TO approve before even environmental phase is cleared, was there originally zoning for affordable housing? Or is this something the city started rectroactively wanting? This is an important question to getting context.

Edit: is the “new zone” for affordable housing even affordable? 300k for OH seems pretty steep.

But its easier to afford renting than it is to get a home. Almost everyone can rent but not get a home due to various factors.

Bc if they’re not building section 8 esque housing then I’m inclined to believe the second story about them using his house as a selling point for $250-300k homes which is weird lol
