Didn't say its a product of mindless consumerism, wasn't tryna speak in absolutes, replayability can still be important. But great art isnt inherently tied with great replayability, but a lot of people think so because of consumerism
There is some overlap, true. Some of the greatest artists of our time and before never lived to see the fruits of their pain
yeah no
If the music is impactful you'll play that s*** for years and years, im not talking about a hit that you play 3 times a day for a week and forget it even existed
As far as long term listens, yeah I'll agree. But it doesnt have to be repeated listens in a short term. Like I havent heard Blonde in 5 years and when I listen to it again I'll probably still think its amazing
In terms of consumerism yea. But a lot of times impactful music isnt always the one that you can replay the most
Meet the grahams

"Only real music is gonna last, all the other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrow."
Yeah some music that might not be the most replayed in the present compare to others can still go on to have a longer lifespan and be appreciated down the line
? its litterally the second most important criteria lmao
No it is not
A movie is not only as good as how many times you rewatch it
A video game is not only as good as how many hours you spend playing it
A book is not only as good as how many times you re-read it
This idea that music is only as good as how replayable it is is absolutely ridiculous

yeah stfu man
Album is good. I think there are some very important songs on here and I think lyrically and flow wise it's one of Dave's best. Sound-wise it gets pretty dull, and it can get boring.
The tems song, and the album title song are both songs which stood out heavily to me.
yeah stfu man
You judge music by how much you can replay it every five minutes of your day as if it’s nothing more than an IV of dopamine, shut the f*** up

They literally said 'If the music is impactful you'll play that s*** for years and years, im not talking about a hit that you play 3 times a day for a week and forget it even existed'
Why are you making things up about every 5 minutes. Just bringing uneccesary drama to the thread
Great art is generally something you'll go back to at some point in time. Sometimes you go back to it rarely, but it has a lasting impact on you.

I made that original post a week ago and that user decided to respond to it today. That has nothing to do with me.
He’s bashing this album for not being replayable and then says great music gets returned to for years and years. This album released six days ago
It’s a stupid ass argument against an album that isn’t even a week old

So what the hell did you respond to my post for? I was referring to people saying the album wasn’t good because it had no replayability 24 hours after it released
