Besides Elden Ring I guess I haven’t played or beaten a Souls game since 2019. The only ones I have left are Dark Souls 1, Demon Souls, and Old Hunter DLC. What am I doing
Dark Souls 2 hate on the last page is funny though, I thought it was cool minus the hitboxes & enemy placements
I finally finished Dark Souls 2 and I can officially say it's worse than mid
The environments are decent, but towards late game enemies just felt spammed.
The biggest flaw of all imo is the forgettable and super easy bosses. None of the bosses felt significant, they all felt like glorified common enemies. Every boss could be beaten in max 3 tries, even when under leveled. It's been a while since I've played DS1 but I remember decent bosses, and ofc DS3 has difficult, and memorable bosses.
I will say the game felt better once I leveled up my rolling, and that it's still worth playing despite not being very good, especially when compared to the rest of the soulsborne series.
Just finished all of 2 yesterday, s*** is ASS. I hope 3 is as good as yall say, bloodborne and ds1 are my favs
After returning to ds1 I can say that 1 is better than 3 imo but bloodborne is best
Going back to Dark Souls after playing nothing but Bloodborne for a while and getting punished for the aggressive plays youre used to
crazy i played ds3 for like 200 hours but never got into any of the other ones at all
especially elden mid
consistently the worst poster on this site how do you do it man

Imagine not playing our lord and saviour Bloodborne.

funny, this is pretty similar to my thoughts after i finished ds2 for the first time but honestly i've grown to really appreciate ds2. i haven't replayed it yet so maybe i'm only remembering what i enjoyed about it but i ended up preferring ds2 to ds1 after i finished ds1 for the first time
Oh my dayz. I'm playing Dark Souls Remastered and just made it to Anor Londo. This place is just marvelous.

Found the Dragon Tooth
Loved this weapon when I played Dark Souls 3 earlier this month. Now I'm about to slap the infamous Ornstein and Smough. I have heard a lot about these guys. Let's see what they've got.

Got eem
Only thing that may be tough about the fight is that it's 2 vs 1, which is usually a pain when it comes to Souls games. Once one of them was down, the other was pretty simple. I had more trouble in Elden Ring with the Godskin Duo cus they also revive each other.
Gotta say, after beating Anor Londo yesterday in Dark Souls Remastered, that was one of the greatest and most memorable experiences I've had in a game.
Everything from the vista when you first arrive to all the rooms in the castle and the infamous Ornstein & Smough fight. I thought I was enjoying Sen's Fortress but Anor Londo took things to another level and has definitely been the biggest highlight in the game so far.
Right after Anor Londo I seeked revenge on the Four Kings that had previously beaten my butt because my hits were too weak and slow to beat them quickly enough, but this time I took them down with ease since I've gotten significantly stronger and rocking some dope new gear. Also rebuked the demons in the Demon Ruins and now I'm making my way through Lost Izalith.
So satisfying when you reach a decent level and get a build that makes you feel so strong that you just run towards any challenge without fear of getting whooped (surely you will still get whooped, it is Dark Souls after all).

The fire has been linked. I just finished Dark Souls (Remastered).

Verdict: This is one of the best games I have ever played. I see why people call Dark Souls 1 a classic and perhaps the best game in the series. The overall experience and atmosphere was fantastic. I thought DS1 would feel outdated but the gameplay still holds up. I started on DS1 right after beating DS3 and I was surprised to find that running, jumping, smacking enemies all felt very much like it did in DS3, and I played both in 60 FPS (Xbox Series S). That made the transition from DS3 to DS1 feel smooth even though they are years apart.
Now, on towards some new adventures (or perhaps NG+)!

Die hard DS2 defender here. SOTFS is a worse game than base DS2 imo. Also it’s really in a weird place in retrospect. On release s*** was gas, expanded on DS1 in so many ways, all the gameplay additions were so great. But subsequent souls games (especially ER) have made it obsolete in a lot of ways too where as the straightforwardness and simplicity of DS1 has let it stay a classic.

Been nice to read through your first experience with the game, would definitely recommend playing the excellent DLC as well

DS1 is a perfect video game
