The old thread was better because it catered to the Bruisers as a whole and not just Danny. But it's cool.

Bruiser Wolf a real life street poet
I also think it might be time for Danny to link back up with them. Quaranta was great, this and the Jpeg album are two strikes on an otherwise flawless catalog.
.......
Yeah anyway.
Can someone help me out? I just got off a 12hr shift I ain't tryna hear no bullshit.

Idk maybe it's just because I'm an older musician myself but I think people take detours like this record way too seriously
Some of y'all legit getting mad over this s*** and I think bro is just trying to have a good time at 44 and put his fanbase on to some artists he's listening to rn
He just recently put out one of his most reflective and somber records. Now he's switching it up and if it's not for you, oh well
Danny has one of the most varied and interesting discogs in rap and I think that's better for his legacy than staying in whatever pocket he's had the most acclaim in. You can tell he believed in this record and his heart was in it 100%
FWIW I think the album is like a 7/10 and one of his weaker ones, but I like the overall direction, and the tour is going is going to be great
Some of yall are lying to yallselves saying this album aint overall left field and is definitely gonna alienate a good portion of danny fans.
Hyperpop is a very very abrasive genre yall.
It would help if danny wasnât inconsistent lyrically on this album but eh it is what it is.
Goretex said he made old side b which reminded me i hated that side sans float on.
Also who tf said baby is soty thats one of the worst songs on here

Thatâs fair.
Would give it 6 but im not gonna say âlol he should just stay a fanâ either.
Alt idea: heâs honest and the music just isnât your cup of tea
plot twist i like the album
The fact that ppl are doubting that danny f***in brown actually likes the genres he is dabbling in is literally hilarious.
People really don't leave their bubble and think there's only 1-2 worthwhile genres

Lmaoooooooo
Iâve had some time to let this soak in and these are my ever evolving thoughts
Donât let the hyperpop sheen and electronic glitchy elements fool you, this is probably one of Danny Browns most emotional projects.
Dude created a
character to help portray the feeling he felt when he was liberated by this type of music when he got out of rehab that brought him joy again after not knowing how to feel becoming sober for the first time. And it clearly laid out with the calmer Quadrca songs narrating this on the nose, serving almost as like interludes.
Is this project perfect? No. A couple tracks are a little bit tooâŠmuch for me even with keeping an open mind. The one with Femtanyl isnât really doing it for me and 1999 is f***ing ATROCIOUS.
But for 2 tracks that donât do it for me, thereâs a lot to praise
The MVP of the album is underscores, who has 2 of the top 5 tracks on the album imo. Wouldnât have been mad to see more of them on the project, I think they understood each other really well and shared some dope chemistry that doesnât always happen on here when he collabs with others.
I can see a lot of people thrown off by this albums sound in the thread and it makes sense. Usually the production on his albums save for Old Side B allows him to be the eccentric one while giving him a solid backdrop. Whereas here, the production and him are sharing the eccentric spotlight.
Love Dannyâs rapping throughout, and I love the way he experimented with different inflections of his voice. He will always be one of the most interesting when it comes to his delivery.
Solid album all around, I see the majority of this growing on people aside from the most stubborn purists.

This a wack take. Why cant people just not like a sound and it be that specific sound?
Why it gotta be a demerit against their entire music consumption?
STH was loved and that was all over the place genre wise too lol
this what I was originally talking bout months ago with âthe crowdâ this album was made for.
The type that look down on niggas

The character being portrayed is evident and i f***s with the headspace that heâs in.
But songs like lift me up is like...he can ârapâ better than this. Bro put his whole life on âThe Endâ and that s*** was heartfelt as all hell.
That song prolly gon end up in my top 10 Danny when itâs all said and done just off of how he was flowing over that racist pedo gore-loving creepâs beat
Use your words b****
âIâm old and make music, Danny is so brave and different for rapping on hyperpop beatsâ

Canât wait for the 6.7 Pitchfork review.
If youâre an artist thatâs been in the game for at least 10 years, Pitchfork is contractually obligated to give you anything between a 6.5-7.4.
This will probably go down as his most polarizing album ever
Not even him rapping on EDM beats on Old stirred this much of a ruckus online lmao
