The album D was working on after Voodoo. It technically got scrapped, but a few songs from that era made it on Black Messiah.

It was mostly rumored on music forums in the aughts, especially on Okayplayer where Questlove would post frequently. He even leaked a couple demos from those sessions after it seemed like D would never finish it. There are a few articles online though if you google it.

He just canceled his set at the Roots Picnic. We’re never getting a new album from him.

Looks like he had surgery earlier this year and is recovering from it. I hope he’s ok. I can’t wait for the new music. I’ll be ready whenever he’s ready.

Yeah, you can’t trust anything D says when it comes to new music. I am old enough to have bought Voodoo on its release night and having my mind blown. There were so many pump fakes during the 14 yr wait till BM, so I’ve learned to not trust anything he or others around him say about new music dropping. If we ever get anything again I’ll just be pleasantly surprised and grateful, but I can’t let myself get hopeful over rumors and such.
