ryuHI just heard what he said. I don’t see how this is such a big deal. I mean I can kind of get how a member of the LGBT community would feel slightly disrespected by it but if that’s the case whoever felt disrespected don’t have to be fans. He didn’t use any slurs or anything. He was just talking s*** as rappers typically do. 20 years ago Eminem said every 4 bars and white america loved him for it. That little comment in the middle of his performance was lite in comparison.
If I’m black and your white you don’t have to like me and get along with me or even say nice things about me. I just need to have equal rights and opportunities as you and the law should treat us the same. That’s it. Same if I’m straight and you gay. You and I should have the same rights and equal protection under the law but that doesn’t mean we have to play nice with each other and walk on eggshells. People are entitled to having their beliefs/opinions as long as it doesn’t infringe on the freedoms of others.
I’m all for equality but we shouldnt be silencing people and stopping people from expressing themselves. It ain’t hurting nobody. I don’t agree with his opinion but he still has a right to have one. Media just sensationalize anything.
I get you and while we do live in a society that's a lot more sensitive, I feel it's for the best. Gay, transgender and HIV-infected people have been killed for being who they are.
Heterosexual people with a platform need to understand that their words and actions have consequences. A random nobody can say what DaBaby said and suffer no consequences but DaBaby just do happens to be someone important.
I don't get demanding for the right to free speech when that speech is harmful to a group of people. DaBaby did not have to say what he said on that stage. This isn't 20 years ago. S*** you could get away with saying/doing 20 years ago won't fly now and more celebs need to understand that.
