First time I’ve been kinda hyped for a Kanye album in a while

i read a lot of the sentiment "oh s***, kanye going through some s*** so maybe he'll go off"

but it reminds me when i was talking to the singer of this indie band called Los Campesinos

and somehow death cab for cutie came up. the two bands had toured together for a bit, and he was telling me how the leader singer and writer of death cab for cutie, ben gibbard, told Los Camp guy (gareth) that he had been listening to Gareth's album, and it was helping him go through his divorce at the time. ben also said he was working on his new death cab album, which would obviously draw from this very public divorce (sidenote: he was married to zooey deschanel. this was like prime era 500 days of summer zooey deschanel he had married).

so we both discussed and agreed that there's a certain amount of uh......well it's not "pleasure". we're not ....."happy" that he's going through some s***, but there's a level of...willfulness to see a silver lining in the situation. it's like, "it's a shame he's suffering with this s***, but hey,... dude writes good songs when he's sad. turn a negative into a positive". so yeh, we were eager to hear what would come out of it.

it was a horrible f***ing album.
