Overall it's still been a great year for A24, considering The Farewell/Gems/Lighthouse all did good to great at the box office. 2019 was stacked with excellent oscar-worthy films and I think the release schedule for the various films (very early for The Farewell, overshadowed by Parasite for Lighthouse, too late in the season for Gems) impacted the nomination chances for the films. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed how A24 scheduled their slate of movies last year, and I think the box office outcome agrees too.

What factors do you think played into the snubs?
