Said Spotify doesn’t care about the listeners, doesn’t care about podcasters or their shows, just wants to fill demographics. Joe’s show was #1 for a year so Spotify offered to buy them watches as a bonus but then they backtracked, Joe suggested if watches was too much money they give away less money to some listeners but Spotify decided a bonus wasn’t necessary anymore. Whenever Spotify offered to renegotiate Joe said he wanted to wait until the end. Spotify never fully gave him the numbers his pod was doing while it was number 1 and magically the month before it was time to renegotiate the pod’s ranking dropped by several positions while Spotify continued to refuse to show any data about the ranked podcasts listeners or any statistics. There’s a lot more that’s just what i remember off the top of my head
