Just finished the game with the most side quests. (Did the kerry, panam, judy, river and roque storyline too)

At the end I think its a good game even though you see missed potential at every occasion. You have this amazing art direction and world but there is nothing behind it. You have an intresting an dialogue system but it barely effects anything.

One thing i also noticed is the attachment to the map. In RDR 2 oder W3 you get connected to the map locations and you are intrested to see new things there, because the map is dense and full of things. But in CP the locations feel static and often there is no need to visit it more than one time. Also the map locations feel to similiar to each other due to the setting.

Also there are some things which are straight bad.

AI, Looting, Skill tree, most side activites are straight bad, underused factions etc.

The story and the side quests also feel like a step back from the witcher 3. Overall most of them are good to decent, but you can also see missed potential. The story feels kinda rushed, even though its written pretty good. The story endings vary from decent to straight bad imo. The Witcher 3 did that much better. Actually they shouldnt have cut some story arcs (Jackie) too shorten the game.

Besides the jefferson peralez questline, the river ward questline and the panam and maybe judys quests (and sinnerman/) there is no side quests you gotta do. Most of them are pretty luck luster (claire) and have a dissapointing end (delamain)

At the end i would give the game an 8, even though the bugs and crashes would lower it to 7,5 at the moment. Fun game but could have been sooo much more. They should have made the game smaller and not than ambitious.

Will def play it one time more when the DLCs are released.

One DLC gotta be about Mr. Blue Eyes (roque AI) who appeared in the Dream On quest. He def gave me Gaunter of Dimm vibes. Could be great

Kinda sad that my most hyped games from 2020 (TLOU2 and CP77) which were guarented to by in my top 5 of this gen (besides RDR2, TW3 and GOW) arent in even my top 15 or something like that.

In this gen only Red Dead 2, The Witcher 3 and God of War should be considered as masterpieces imo.

side gigs get too much flack. they have pretty decent amount of depth for a general copy and paste mission structure. just did one where i was hired by this girl's dad to off her boyfriend and instead i saved his life not the first one that ended like this either

Uncharted 4 also belongs there imo. Won't get as much praise as the games you mentioned because its relatively linear so it doesn't have as much content but Naughty Dog really thought of everything. Its just a perfectly designed game, only Rockstar have given me that "Wow, I can't believe this is in the game " feeling before.

    TLOU2 isn’t top FIFTEEN?

It wasn’t as good as the first, but that’s a crazy high bar to set. TLOU is S-Tier classic, gaming history level. Locked-in cornerstone of telling a narrative in gaming on top of incredible gameplay and one of the more unique and interesting multiplayer modes.

Also, Bloodborne is more of a masterpiece than any of those you listed IMO. Maybe on the same level as RDR2, but that’s a hell of a genre gap to make a comparison.

I just had more fun with other games

TLOU 2 just had bad side characters (sam and henrys story from part 1 were more intresting than all of them), Abby being a mid charcter + the game has a huuuuge ludo-narrative dissonance + much mooore

I love Bloodborne but im actually not a souls fan and I think the game kinda gets worse after leaving yharnam (goat leveldesign and art direction). Pretty good still but not a masterpiece (for me)

15 games better than tlou 2 (for me)

Red Dead 2, Witcher 3, God of War, Bloodborne, Deus Ex MD, Ghost of Tshushima, Shadow of Colusseus Remake, Spiderman, Resi 2 Remake, Uncharted 4, Horizon, Battlefield 1, AC Origins, Mafia Remake, Prey and Metro Exodus.

CP77 full patched with no crashes and bugs would have entered probably

And i still gotta play FF7, Doom Eternal, Sekiro and Miles Morales

Did you play Bloodborne blind or with a guide?

Saying it gets better after Yharnam is borderline offensive to me lol

It was a perfect “down the rabbit hole” experience into some twisted cosmic horrorscape, and Yharnam was just the surface.

It’s your 15, so I can’t knock it, but I would never put things like remakes over a great, brilliantly compelling new narrative game with airtight controls/mechanics. A game like TLOU2 gets severely ignored on all of the smaller things they do mechanically.

    kinda mixed tbh.

Yharnam just has the best level design and the coolest lore in the game imo.
cleric beast was an easy boss but his screams combined with his theme made me sweat hard. cant forget that

They did a great job with Yharnam, but I personally saw the s*** that went down after ROM as the real meat of the game.

The whole game was cool as f***. Truly a masterpiece, and it still feels better than most more modern games to play.

Replaying that very first instance to farm vials vs. running past everything to Gascoigne lmao

Yeah, vials were a maaasssssive bother and they were kind of counterproductive to the idea that we were supposed to just figure s*** out.
