They don’t have to redo it, but they will have to probably do essentially a Witcher 2 enhanced version of it to get back some of their reputation.

Bug and performance fixes won’t cut it. They’ll need to tweak and revamp mechanics and systems, make the game actually feel finished and feature complete in order to get people truly back on board.

They have A LOT resting on this game. If they choose to do just the bare minimum then it’s over. That multiplayer will probably be dead on arrival (and a f***ing mess to boot) and anticipation for The Witcher 4 is gonna crater.

They’re tarnished at this point, and it’s gonna take years of consistent effort and transparency to get people’s trust in them back.

We’ll see in the next few weeks what they plan on doing.

They’ve probably already dumped millions into it at this point. We’ll see, I suppose. That and the expansions should definitely be pushed back indefinitely though, until the base game is up to snuff and people are generally pleased with it.

It’s mostly because of how hyped the game was, if it was something lesser known it wouldn’t be as dramatic.

CDPR NEEDS to be transparent as f*** on how they plan on rectifying all of this. Keeping quiet with their head down, even if they’re working on it, ain’t gonna cut it.

People want answers, they want in on their plans, they’re going to want to hear the details.

No man's sky is the closest example we have. Apparently that game is actually rather good these days, but the whole brand is f***ed up so bad that people just assume it is a terrible game. A sequel wouldn't do well.

Cyberpunk is a proper AAA title though. If CDPR do manage to turn it around significantly (the game will never be what a lot people had hoped for, but personally I don’t think that was ever going to be the case no matter what) word will get around.
