    F*** man
    ....

    I finished this.

Idk how to feel. I liked it. But gahdamn it fell below my expectations. Maybe mine were a bit too high considering witcher is in my top 5 games ever

Theres alot to like and alot to hate. Too bad alot that i liked didnt even run properly. Had a total of 29 crashes. Thats like triple the amount of game crashes that ive had from every game ive ever played combined

    Its a 7.5 or an 8.
Wasnt even close to what i hoped for but still a good game. At least ill always have witcher 3

I just wanna get to the point where I can play it (PS4 Pro) and then replay it in years time after that with the next-gen patch and (hopefully) some substantial updates and DLC that flesh the experience out.

From what I’m hearing, it CDPR stick to the game and revamp some aspect, fix the wanted system, fix the AI (if possible), add QoL features, revamp the UI and inventory, tweak and rebalance combat, add more things to do in the world itself, add barbers/tattooists/plastic surgeons and the like then the game could hit greatness (like 8.5-9/10).

I mean there are certain facets that can’t be fixed, like if you were hoping for a more branching narrative or the ability to better define V’s personality. Hopefully in future expansions they’ll greatly expand choices and consequences to give us that experience.

It’s clear the game was rushed and is unfinished, but if they do manage to fix and finish what is here it might not be the game that people hoped for or expected, but taken on its own it could still be something that’s great.

That's why Rockstars strategy of basically not telling anything about the game besides 1 gameplay trailer very close to release works best

    I mean, Rockstar’s different dude.

They could just straight Beyoncé drop a game and people would lose their s***. They don’t even need to do promo, not even for a new IP, they’re basically a brand at this point.

Like, imagine Rockstar’s Twitter just announces one day “Yo, GTAVI is out now on PSN/Xbox Game Store.”

It’d be pandemonium. That’d probably end up the most liked Tweet of all time.

    I agree

But at the same time, now during the age of internet i don't think any game needs to be announced years before it drops anymore TBH

Or atleast showing gameplay is something you don't need to do years before it drops

Or even dropping multiple videos with gameplay a year before it drops isn't necessary

I feel like not showing the gameplay untill it was more polished and closer to release couldve actually generated more hype

3-4 trailers with 1 (maybe 2) gameplay trailers (so like, below 10 mins total) should've been enough IMO

I know it sounds insane, but the entire time i played this just made me want to play gta.
I know theyre supposed to be 2 different entities. But there wasn't enough rpg elements to distract Me from it between missions. Everytume i hit a car on a turn because the driving on ice skates, i said f*** i wanna play gta again. So i finished this last night and just bought gta 5 again lmao.

Everything that i wanted to experience in this game i got from gta except for the hacking and netrunning portions. Just my ten cents

lol you’re only thinking about from the disappointed consumer POV. if they wouldn’t have showed as much of the game as they did for as long as they did, not nearly as many people would have even known/been excited about this game

I wish V wasn't such a bland and uninteresting character. Feels like they tried have a defined character like Geralt while also making V a cipher for the player like a Fallout/Elder Scrolls type character and didn't really pull either off.

It makes it a lot harder for me to get invested in the story too because the main thrust of it is ensuring V's survival and I find it really hard to give a s*** about him/her

doesn't help that the voice actor for male V is f***ing garbage too lmao

I think this is one of the issues of having a voiced protagonist in RPGs.

Yeah it's basically a choice between

Create alot of hype and you're not sure if you'll be able to give the consumers everything you say they will get

Create less hype but deliver when it's ready and it's good

Creating alot of hype has positive effects like more pre-orders and sales but overall the general opinion on CDPR has changed completely after this s***show

It’s kind of hilarious how many people are going back to that 48 minute demo from a couple years ago and saying “Yo, what the f***, why doesn’t the game look like that?”, completely ignoring the disclaimer that’s literally at the bottom of the screen the entire time: “Work-in-progress, subject to change”.

People forget that CDPR didn’t even want to show that demo to the public, but people were throwing a hissy fit because it was only being shown behind closed doors. It was literally released by them with the understanding in mind, by the public, that the final product might not resemble that.

Hell, I’m pretty sure the narrator of the demo even says s*** like “This is what CDPR envisions” for the game. It’s basically presented as a proof of concept from the get go.

And on top of that, I remember everyone and their mama seeing that s*** and saying “There is NO WAY the game is going to look like this when it releases, ESPECIALLY on current gen!”

Yeah people with last gen consoles were expecting way too much. Anyone who understands this knew they ran it on a high end PC from the start. I did expect the base consoles to be more playable frame rate wise but base consoles were almost outdated when they dropped, idk what people wanted lol

I’m not even necessarily talking about just visuals, but the amount of systems at play in the demo was nuts. Beyond anything ever shown before.

Remember the press who saw the game behind closed doors came out of it saying s*** like “I can’t believe what I was seeing was actually a video game.” and other variants of that.

When the game was initially revealed it seemed to good to be true, and that’s because it was.

It seems like people were wiser about it then than they are now.

Honestly now that I had time to reflect, the awful ending is making me reconsider what I have been saying for a while. Cyberpunk is neither a good RPG nor an Action/Adventure game. It is just an unfinished mess that CDPR rushed to get out before the holiday season, the bugs are just the icing on the cake. The story has its moments and the gameplay is fine but that's about it. It's a 7/10 game that I'll never be touching again.

You can reach the ending in literally 10 hours, I have close to 60 hours in it. If anything I'm surprised not many have reached it yet.
