Adam Kiciński, CD Projekt Red co-CEO, began talking about only showing the game on certain platforms before launch, saying that this caused the loss of gamers' trust and the reputation that they've been building through a big part of our lives. He said, "That’s why our first steps are solely focused on regaining those two things. We are concentrated on fixing Cyberpunk on last-gen consoles."

Kiciński also reiterated from a previous statement that was released yesterday regarding the current state of console versions, saying, "The first substantial set of fixes was released over the weekend. The next set of fixes will be released within the next 7 days. Big updates are planned for January and February, together with smaller fixes. Of course, PC gamers will also be getting regular updates and fixes. We'll do everything possible to prove that we stick to our values. We truly hope that our efforts will let us rebuild the trust we have lost."

Interesting that he seems to be distinguishing “updates” from “fixes”

Just finished the game, truly amazing. It's just shy of a masterpiece imo.

(gonna copy and paste what I sent to some friends)

So big critiques/a wish list and what makes it just shy of a masterpiece imo:

Drivers are incredibly stupid. There's no driving AI, is just pre set paths.

Combat AI is incredibly stupid as well, but they've said the AI being that dumb is a bug

Very buggy. While I don't mind the bugs while free roaming, its super annoying to have dialogue not playing, phone calls not answering, enemies in walls causing me to reload, and things like that. (I still have a gig I can't complete because it won't "activate")

I would like more things to do in the already amazing world. Basic stuff like getting a haircut, better shops, food places with dialogue, ect.

    I'd like to customize cars

It would be cool to have the ability to buy new apartments, just to add to the amazing progression already.

Edit: Thankfully most of this stuff is easy to add/fix. Everything but driving AI maybe. Another thing that would be nice is a vanity slot so you don't look like s***. Also would be nice to have cyberware be more visible, would be cool if you could have a metal arm or something like that.

I mean, from what I’ve seen and the streams and the like the writing is significantly better than Oblivion’s. It was the AI for the most part that really made those quests.

Oblivion didn’t really have any well written characters or anything like that tbh.

Also, the main story in Bethesda’s game are almost universally ass

  • Dec 16, 2020

In fact, most open world RPG’s main story are typically pretty weak, even The Witcher 3’s main story wasn’t its strongest feature.

So to hear so many people say the main story in the game is actually good is pretty rare for these types of games

You can’t buy new apartments? Damn that’s disappointing to me. That’s been in these kinda games since san andreas

That screams DLC to me tbh. Car customization as well.

Also, you couldn’t buy new places in GTA V. Only person who got a new pad was Franklin. There were technically multiple places in that game for the 3 characters though.

This is like when DC fanboys say "how dare you compare DC movies to Marvel they clearly have nothing in common"

This game is closer to GTA than basically any other game on the market. Do you expect me to pretend I havent played video games like this before?

  • Dec 16, 2020

Why is buying apartments a GTA thing ? If anything you would expect it to be in this “Role Playing Game” rather than GTA

they are similar in that they can be played the same way. they are each meant to be played completely differently tho.

if you go into Cyberpunk looking at it like futuristic GTA then f*** yeah you’ll be disappointed. if you go into it with realistic/more accurate expectations for a game in a completely different genre, it’s a different story
