Man, CDPR’s official forums were straight delusional with their expectations for this game.

Some of this seemed to think the game was destined to be as polished, balanced and well rounded as a linear game, as if CDPR could tap into something beyond even a studio like Rockstar.

Like, did they forget that this game was going to come out on last-gen consoles?

Did they forget that this is only CDPR’s FOURTH game?

Did they forget that even The Witcher 3 was jank as s***?

How many hours y'all got? Lowkey got a sick amount of hours for it only being out 5 and a half days

    About 35 hours

  • I'm starting to realize a lot of these perks and augmentations are bugged/do nothing. The combat health regen perks don't regen your health at all. The circulatory system pump that's supposed to restore half your health also doesn't work.

It’s clear most just saw TW3 final state and had no idea how it performed and looked on launch.

Not even just that. It’s like they expected CDPR to turn into a completely different studio within the span of a single game.

The game was always going to be messy and full of jank. Hell, people on that forum are still complaining about features that were cut that CDPR openly said would be cut (like wall running, owning multiple apartments, the child hero mechanic).

The game was always going to have issues given the developer and their general inexperience. Features and mechanics in games never look or feel how they sound in articles or in statements, that’s just the nature of gaming. S*** ain’t limitless

Yeah, but if you had any sense at all you would not be gullible enough to actually believe it all.

It was clear they were high as f*** off the success of The Witcher 3, which performed well above anyone’s expectations.

If something sounds too good to be true, especially in gaming, it is. Full stop.

That statement was from 2 years ago, and a lot can change in game development in 2 years. Hell, the devs literally said the game wasn’t ready to be released, but shareholders pressured them into releasing it.

I guarantee you they wanted to delay well beyond December 10th back in October, but it was denied. In fact, I don’t even think they (the developers) even wanted to release the game in November.

I’m not defending the business practices, I’m defending the actual developers themselves.

There are many fundamentals of this game that match the level of free to play games on steam and that’s without the bug problems

They were talking about the AI as late as this June, so chances are the system was there, they likely didn’t have the time to implement it correctly, which probably made the last-gen versions literally unplayable.

They said in their business conference that they’re looking at the AI as if it were a “bug” so maybe it’ll be something they address. We’ll see. Apparently they plan on being a bit more specific with things concerning the game and it’s issues at the beginning of the year.

Bro, I literally work in a Dev/Programmer environment, and I’m TELLING you, that devs need to be held responsible.

The stakeholders would ask them of a certain date where the product would be ready, the dev team would tell them “XYZ”. Until the product is 100% ready, the devs can push it back - BUT NEED to let the stakeholders know/communicate/meet with them (and potentially get yelled at).

This is normal, this is business. Not a good look for CDPR, the blame is on them.
