im 15 hours in now and in act 2 and my feelings are the exact same. boring story, gameplay loop is decent and i like the no mini map. But the world is so f***ing boring and its just an ubisoft openworld with the unfun stuff cut out.

Yeah GoT is good, but it’s basically a bigger budget Assassin’s Creed (with a surprising amount of janky animations).

There aren’t massive set pieces every 10 minutes.

75% of RPGs are typically composed of exploration, conversations and menu deep diving.

This s*** is by far the most extensive AAA RPG I’ve ever seen. It’s insane how many systems are at play and how dynamic the conversations alone are.

Night City alone is probably the most intricately built, artistically varied city I’ve ever seen in a video game.

Not to mention how varied the interior environments are with very little in the way of asset reuse.

Boring story? You lost right there. Maybe finish the game first

Yeah bro there’s no way the game could be not great any detractors just haven’t played RPGs before. Not like I’ve been playing them my whole life and certain RPGs are in my top 10 OAT

I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt but the start of this game has been extremely
sluggish and rocky, horrible performance issues completely aside.

I’m just gonna put this down for now and hope there’s a patch that improves the performance. I’m willing to put up with not so great gameplay or not so great performance but not both.
