    Hopefully reviews next thursday/friday

Game releases are so weird. Mondays and Thursdays whereabouts almost everything else is solely on Fridays.

I think Friday at the earliest, Tuesday at the latest.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re kind of nervous to send console versions out since the day one patch isn’t likely ready yet (they’re probably still working on it and have to then submit it to certification).

So unless they have something to patch it now, reviewers will be playing the unpatched, months old gone gold version, which might not make the greatest impression.

Cant wait for reviews, but I'm also keeping my expectations in check. I think it's fair to say the game will do well and be well received, but it's not going to be perfect for everyone.

    • City wont be as immersive and dense as SOME want
    • Story might be a very slow burn for some, which is intentional as this is an RPG.
    • There will still inevitably be complaints about no third person on foot action

I'm just ready to finally get immersed in this beautiful city and take my sweet time and enjoy what the game does offer instead of being upset about any unrealistic expectations being met.

That’s just gonna be outliers though, actual reviewers tend to judge games more on their own intentions.

Not gonna lie it's pretty disappointing that they dont have the PS5/XSX version ready to go at launch, considering all the delays.

I'm not bashing though, as I know game development is extremely complex especially with a project this ambitious.

But the nextgen versions being available "sometime next year" doesn't inspire much confidence lol

It was never intended to be a next gen game though so it makes sense.

    Next year is fine.

I just want a PS5 version. Guess I’m gonna wait on that.

Well that's all just my opinion. But I always thought it was the other way around since the beginning.

I read an article that quotes

"We are releasing a game which is, to be honest, a next-gen game, and we're preparing it for fairly old machines, which poses certain unique challenges"

So the delay was because of the current gen versions not being up to snuff yet. If it was meant to be a current gen game, those versions would have been ready to go first.

Doesnt matter though I'm excited we'll all get to play the game soon regardless

expecting the day 1 patch to be ready on day 1 tbh maybe like a few hours before launch or some s***

They can start developing a game years in advance without the nextgen hardware available yet. Alls they need is an engine and can use a PC to test it.

If I remember right Oblivion was in development during the ps2/xbox era and was announced during that era but was eventually revealed to be a 360 title before 360 was even out.

Imo only reason its coming out for ps4/x1 period is they would be leaving way too much money on the table as that's what everyone has still.

But nexgen was definitely meant to be the priority and I think the reason the game looks so much more ambitious than what's currently available speaks to that.

Sorry for the rant though lol I'm a geek for that type of stuff sometimes
