  • even before the movie took off we had people saying "bear is an loser she never liked him in any way he was friend zoned and he forced this"

even while the actors said the opposite.

The reason this movie was so successful was the amount of projection.

Ngl this push to put Nikki as the villain in games and theme parks reminds me of when squid games got flanderized by pop culture. Started off as harmless meme-ing that snowballed to the original intent getting lost along the way

If you think about it though, how many horror icons are victims?

Jason Voorhees, Carrie, Sadoko, Frankenstein's Monster, Jennifer Clark, Candyman, etc.

    It's not an uncommon trope

And it's Wish Nikki who is being portrayed as the "villain" not Nikki Freeman herself

Wish Nikki isn’t the true villain and the recent push portraying her as the villain misses the point of the story.

Media illiterate folks learning about the movie through mediums like fortnite, Halloween costumes and mr beast will walk away with a warped perspective like squid games was done

While yes not the villain the character has become a modern horror icon

Is Carrie the villain of Carrie? No, she’s a victim of abuse from her mother and bullying from Chris.

Is Carrie still a horror icon? Without a doubt

When a studio has something valuable this is what’s going to happen. If anything this could lead to more people watching the film. Whether they understand it is up to them. If they don’t then that’s the failings of society, their parents, the education system, etc.

the mom from hereditary could be a fortnite character and she is a tortured soul and I wouldnt blink.

Nikki is being memed because actress is young and the movie itself blends comedy for the darkness

the movie is purposefully funny at times its not trying to be the deepest darkest commentary on its given topics
