This man not only referenced multiple movies but soundtrack songs and comics . The whole group of assassins are inspired by the Serpent society. I knew Tarantino was a comic nerd when he referenced the fantastic four in Reservoir Dogs. Yeah you have to be skilled to be able to reference all of this and still make it work.

But who does Kanye take from for his lyrics? Kanye has an original personality at his core. Maybe QT does too, but I think his ‘film appreciation’ maybe goes a little far. I’m not gonna call him a hack (but maybe that’s also bc I haven’t seen enough of the other source films 😬). It’s my understanding tho that Kill Bill is the one that takes the most from another single film. I don’t mind mixing n matching too much, it’s the singularity that stood out

Plenty bro. Every rapper remixes other peoples lyrics bro. But I think you took my comment too literal. I’m saying they both are great at combining different genres that usually wouldn’t be combined. Kinda like how graduation was Rap, with his sampling mixed with electro synths on top

Lol for real bro. I like s*** like that. They talk about this kinda s*** in like 48 laws of power “piggy back off of the work of others, they’ve proving their formula works”

Examples off the top of my head: All falls down hook
Hell of life (not the lyrics but exact same melody from Iron Man song)
Same thing with Lost in the world

Two words: “we in the streets player get your Mail, there’s only two places you end up either dead or in jail”
    That’s a Beanie Sigel line

There’s a lot of examples fam just off lyrics and melody alone. It’s all on whosampled.com

I can tell whenever QT watches a film he writes down the time stamps of scenes that gravitate towards him and saves it for when it’s time to use

I feel you that’s why I also gave the last example. There’s plenty of verses where he takes or remixes someone else’s line. Every rapper does it

I'll believe it when i see it

Ive been waiting to see who announces retiremet first betwee him and Clint, since they're both the same age and both have been filmmaking workhorses for the past 60-odd years haha. (I was planning to wait forever cause i figured they've both die before retiring tbh.)

But if jean-luc is being serious then no i dont accept. You will be done when i say you're done!!! :'(

luckily I have so much godard left to watch but man it'll be a sad day. two projects still mean a couple of years. I don't even know what'll come first.. him finishing or him dying

he's so loveably goofy in the interview while puffing those partagas

Yeah, they'll go up a bit on eBay though. I know some other brands still got same titles, but are region coded. Yet, they're bit cheaper. My theory is they might do another resto of them and release it in 4K UHD or maybe Paramount Presents label.
