only 25 gonna be hard as s***
also gotta make it reasonably accessible
maybe even make it tiered with different levels of exposure.
No point in telling someone who's only pre-2000 film is Pulp Fiction to watch Mabuse The Gambler

Nobody wants to watch der Spieler due to long runtime but I can get the point of being more accessible. Will try.

yeah I just remember some entry-level, mid-level arthouse etc infographics floating around the web and that felt right

@sace I think it’d be a great idea to make a Letterboxd list for these so newcomers can track it easily. Great list

Loving these Noir Films. The Crimson Kimono has been my fav so far
You talking about that "Columbia Noir" collection right? Nightfall, Human Desire, In a Lonely Place, and The Lady from Shanghai are all godly
Been meaning to watch some of the stuff in that collection myself tbh, especially those Phil Karlson films.

L'Avventura
lately i've been obsessed with edward yang. saw the documentary that came with a brighter summer day and it's made me sad that there aren't more taiwanese films in the criterion collection. a brighter summer day and yi yi really left an impression on me. haven't felt this way about a movie in a while.
i'm going to get into hou hsiao-hsien soon and i wish there was a better release of a city of sadness out there.

Damn. Is eBay still shipping there?

yeah the issue isn't shipping companies, it's amazon suspending "unnecessary" (
) deliveries like films for international customers.
There's plenty of 3rd party sellers on amazon tho but i'd rather order a bundle of stuff straight from the warehouse
also I can finally get that arrow rivette set (which is sold out now in EU) and cohen's release of joan the maid
only available release for merry-go-round, duelle and noroît is without english subs here

Which version of the rivette set you getting? The one that includes Out 1 & Spectre, or just the 3 features (Duelle, Noroit, Merry-Go-Round)?
