Hospitals are prioritizing old people over the young and able bodied as far as testing goes. There are probably millions who have it and don’t even know or it isn’t affecting them enough to go to a hospital. So if you factor in those cases the death rate is probably under 1%.

Also worth noting you could use this exact same argument to make a case for the death rate being HIGHER than the currently reported stats (I.e. people dying randomly but not diagnosed, people dying in quarantine) but I like to air on the side of optimism

overall if you're young no (unless you have a weak immune system) but it seems like this is affecting older people with weaker immune systems at a greater rate than influenza. The scary thing is that it's so much like the flu that it's easily spreadable.

the mortality of the virus is 6% and that's bad really bad specially considering how fast this s*** is spreading

One of my friends seems to think the media isn’t really in the loop and that the authorities are trying to contain the real extent of the virus to make it seem not as bad as it actually is. Whatever numbers we have the reality could be double that at least. Idk though
