It’s inherently not how vaccines work. Your white blood cells are exposed to shells shaped COVID so that it understands how to fight COVID without actually having to contract COVID. There’s no reason nor logical process in which this leads to your immune system deteriorating. Rather, it’s the virus’ responsibility to evolve to overcome your ever-improving system (if you’re a healthy person)
You will have to deal with potential aftereffects that come with any vaccine as your immune system initiates a response to fight the “COVID” the vaccine exposes (fever, sweats, etc) but that subsides.
The long term side effects are negligible not only in comparison to COVID, but in general.
They won't have to deal with potential aftereffects if they get Pfizer

so pfizer vaccine you say?
Any news on when Novavax will get approved in the U.S.? That's the one that uses the same age-old technology that's in the hepatitis vaccine.

Never

you don’t think them not being approved yet means they’re probably worse than mRNA technology?
I’m not gonna quote the posters and dissuade them potentially getting a vaccine but every question you have about side effects can be found by googling man

Novavax efficacy is like 90% last time i checked

No i meant in terms of safety for one taking it
His concern seemed to be around the mRNA technology vs the way vaccines traditionally were made
Co Worker caught it
its looking scary out here
Every single person I talk to regularly either is positive or knows at least one person that is. I’m staying the f*** inside man

A good article, but why can’t this guy refrain from feeding the partisan frenzy with other posts like “Trans Is Something We Made Up” and little quips like the Russians stealing the election thing in part 1? You want people to take your controversial stance seriously? Maybe resist the urge to take contrarian jabs at the cost of your own impartiality.
Anyway, I still read both parts. He makes a compelling argument, but I as a layperson am left with two questions:
1. If GoF has been such a dangerous game for so long to the point that the author feels the need to compare it repeatedly to the toddler parsimonious explanation as though it’s obvious - why exactly has it continued? And I’m not asking that rhetorically. I’m asking where the paper trail is? Who profits from this research? Establish that trail and you’ll appeal to the anti-establishment ethos beginning to seep into the mainstream and break through partisan mental blocks.
2. If it can be established that yes, it was a leak, and, yes, this particular lab is at fault - then, what exactly? I’m all for transparency and accountability, but how does the average person make any kind of meaningful change? And that’s not going to be voting for one party or another in 2022 or 2024 lol
Edit: even more ironic about my point in the first paragraph; he literally has another post about in- and out-groups and how we need to aim to include rather than exclude in our conversations. Completely agreed! And that’s why it’s counterproductive to put your most inflammatory takes in the headline in search of clicks! Like what the f***, he obviously knows better.
I'm glad I got the booster. Omicron felt like a mild cold/sinus infection that lingered annoyingly for a couple weeks. Only reason I even got tested was because my sister in law, who's a nurse, started coughing at work and tested positive.

1. It’d be a pain for me to go and find it all again but the reason GoF continues is because there are people in positions of power that defend and fund such experiments, Fauci chief among them. I’ve posted links in this thread and others, but the big players in making this happen are NIH/NIAID (Fauci), EcoHealth Alliance (Peter Daszak), Ralph Baric at UNC, and DTRA/DARPA. Google any of those together and you’ll find something. I’ll grab links when i find time.
edit: Here’s the first thing that convinced me of a lab leak. It’s got science but it also directly links US Defense/Fauci/Baric, all those things i mentioned nymag.com/intelligencer/amp/article/coronavirus-lab-escape-theory.html
long read but worth a skim. and @gumby4christ on twitter has looked extensively into these connections. here’s a podcast with him going over the article: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/media-roots-radio/id718967852?i=1000510649489
he’s got another podcast in which he talks about the frankly bizarre findings from when Fauci’s emails leaked. he’s doing good work
2. Idk what we average people can do. I guess just scream our heads off and try to ensure that GoF research becomes a political issue that we are all, internationally, opposed to for fear of a deadlier leak. idk
It makes a huge difference to our calculations if it evolved naturally vs if it was artificially created, one is unavoidable, the other is a man-made issue, which means there’s a man made solution
