Would rather just take monoclonal antibodies if I get it than take the vaccine

I tried to prove to my school I had the antibodies since I got sick in January but they didn’t accept that so I had to get the vaccine instead

If this was true we wouldn’t have spent a full year seeing the debates online

idk why it became popular to pretend getting vaccinated is some Samaritan thing you do for the good of the fellow man.

a lot of people do not understand basic virology and human biology

instead of educating themselves or listening to actual scientists and virologists who have no political connections or hidden agendas, they either listen to politicians disguised as scientists (fauci), straight up politicians, or bullshit conspiracy theorists online (ivermectin advocates)

and that's my beef/confusion with the whole thing. if you get the vax you limit risk of reaching critical condition and death, but if that's the case why do we care about everyone choosing not to get vaccinated? in theory the only people they're jeopardizing are other people who consciously chose not to be vaccinated and themselves. at that point they basically signed the waiver and said if they die they die.

the only justification is that the more unvaxxed people get sick the less ICU space there is for everyone else

and i get that, i truly do. i dont want someone to miss out on crucial icu space because of an unvaxxed person. but icu capacity in this country is a joke and not much is being done to change it

also theres a staff shortage of healthcare workers due to them being fired or quitting for not being vaccinated theres literally nurse walkouts going on to protest the vaccine cause its now a political statement and not a health one

yeah this is the main argument to get vaccinated right now. to stop stressing the people we need to take care of us when s*** hits the fan. And also if we’re going to mandate we need everyone to take at around the same time. seems impossible though.

Nah. Hospitals could barely maintain sufficient staff pre-pandemic. Plus most hospitals are private or non-profit.

Temporary/Mobile ICU units funded by FEMA or state emergency agencies makes more sense for the United States at least.

This what I keep telling folks. People see the daily numbers are “low” at say 100 and they shrug it off and say everything is good but what if you or someone you know was that 100…

They doing crazy incentives for nurses and doctors money wise but you right. Just seems like it’s stagnated . We have really climbed in cases from June to now
