During the pandemic in the US, 2,519 people in my age range died of COVID, out of 606,389, or 0.0041% of all covid deaths
So statiscally there wasn't much incentive for ME to get it personally. For other age groups thats a different story by which there is incentive to get it
There'd be more incentive to get vaccinated if they werent bringing masks and restrictions back in spite of 51% of the country being fully vaccinated
if you gotta work a job to support yourself, then it still impacts you. If you and everyone dont get a vaccine that can decrease the spread of covid, then more jobs become restricted again to allow overwhelmed hospitals to catch up. Resulting in everyone’s money getting f***ed up. Its not just about the actual virus of covid not making you sick, it literally made the world freeze last year.
Im an RRT in florida and the hospital im at now has to stop doing certain surgeries and kick out hospice patients because covid is so busy right now.

My antivax coworkers are finally coming around after seeing people near them suffer. One of the guys said a 24 year old he knew died from covid and now he went and finally got his first shot.
At least now my work is doing a vaccine drive with a local hospital cause they must've realized the number of employees vaccinated was super low.

I’m not even one to really entertain vaccinations vs anti vax these days but that post makes no sense to me considering that poster has already gotten the vaccination but then going to hedge on it when a variant pops up after the vaccine have been administered that may not be all encompassing. I’m not an expert by any means but to my understanding the way the cycle works is virus - vaccine - virus mutation - vaccine booster shot adapts to mutation and so on and so forth the cycle continues. Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future of this virus or medicine in general so it’s just a stretch to assume they’re going to line you up for the rest of your life for a shot. All I’m saying. We’re obviously on two sides of the fence on this so I’m not expecting to sway your mind or anything but to me that just doesn’t logically make sense like I said
