lockdown addiction rates are going to be hella sad
domestic abuse too gov don't give a f*** which is sad they want people to be addicted
Nice as long as it prevents severe disease and hospitalization it's a good enough vaccine
I know, it's scary af right now, but there are some positive signs.
There are a few different factors behind the drop in cases we've been seeing, but these vaccines are making a big difference.
In the UK where the vaccination effort has been pretty strong, the 7 day average for cases has dropped from 54k on January 11 to to 22k yesterday. That's a nearly 60% drop in a little over 3 weeks.
The US, which has been pretty slow about vaccinations, has seen a 46% drop from 254k to 136k, also in a little over 3 weeks.
Its great that the numbers are dropping but my goodness my f***ing hospital is getting slammed

Since January 24, the number of active coronavirus cases in California has dropped from 1,727,000 to 1,678,000. This doesn't sound like a lot, it's only about 3%, but the last two weeks have been our ONLY period of steady decline in terms of active cases during the entire pandemic. You can observe plateauing and individual days of decline, but not entire weeks of it.
The effect of the vaccines is very real and it has become apparent quickly. When they say we're vaccinating more people than are being infected, that's what the numbers look like.
Was listening to the radio today and there were PSAs encouraging people to take the vaccine.
Some days I feel optimistic that this will all be over but then there's other days where I feel like we're living in a never ending nightmare

California def needs more vaccines to keep it going.

Virginia. We're still in phase 1b though...which is front line workers, those living in congregate settings, and people 75 years of age and over. I doubt it'll be available for the general population until April or even later like you said.
WV hospitalizations down 50%
The infections and hospitalizations in Israel started falling off a cliff once about 15-20% of the population got the first dose. WV is in that range and a bunch of other states will be this week. I think it's great news that our numbers are going down almost vertically nationally and the vaccine hasn't kicked in yet
