I forgot what documentary I saw on Netflix that basically said the biggest chance a large chunk of humanity that will be wiped out will be because of some disease. Not some nuclear war.The fact that people can travel from one place to another so quickly makes it harder to contain diseases.

Even if the fatality rate is “just” 2% if everyone got it in the US that’s like 6.5 million people dead, which is insane.
Not to mention that rate would likely increase in that scenario since hospitals would be overcrowded
