pandemic didnt destroy the economy the lockdowns did
ah yes if we never locked down surely our economy would be booming (except for the unlucky thousands that die daily)
Does it ever just hit y’all how crazy all this is. Like I can’t imagine being outside my house without a mask anymore

honestly the virus is less shocking as how moronic people are. i knew about crazy viruses like spanish flu already, didnt know how badly people would handle it

Deadass a number of people believe this, and it's alarming

thousands of people die every day
weforum.org/agenda/2020/05/how-many-people-die-each-day-covid-19-coronavirus
7500 people die per day in the US.
Sure people dying sucks but thats part of a pandemic.
The lockdowns have not stopped anyone from dying lmao
denying the severity of it
has it not been proven by multiple sources, including the cdc, that the survival rate for covid is >97%
Does it ever just hit y’all how crazy all this is. Like I can’t imagine being outside my house without a mask anymore
The fact that some people don’t care really scares me

See the nice little color coding on this site that says communicable and not communicable? Yes people die from car accidents and heart disease, but those things aren’t new and don’t spread exponentially
I don’t even agree with extreme lockdowns but the fact you think lockdowns have prevented NO deaths is just...
has it not been proven by multiple sources, including the cdc, that the survival rate for covid is >97%
Survival rate isn’t the only factor. The transmissibility and hospitalization rate is way more important. If a hospital is overwhelmed, the survival rate drops not just for covid but for EVERYTHING
How are we almost in December and people still got the same flawed talking points from March?
Does it ever just hit y’all how crazy all this is. Like I can’t imagine being outside my house without a mask anymore
I used to get out the car and forget that s*** and have to walk back to my car. Now it's second nature as soon as I pull up and enter a place, lol.
How are we almost in December and people still got the same flawed talking points from March?
Because people are really dumb 🥺

its absolutely baffling

We don't have reliable excess death figures for 2020 because it's not over yet, but the 7,500 figure is from 2017. 2,000 Americans are dying each day from COVID.
Assuming this figure for non-COVID deaths holds, and without as many regular hospital check ups it probably will, you're arguing that bumping up the daily deaths by 25-30% is appropriate in order to avoid a quarterly GDP drop of around 10% (the decline in Q2 was 9.5%). In Sweden, it was around 8% in Q2 without a lockdown, so s*** happens no matter what due to the vagaries of the global economy.
Those are the raw numbers. To me, there is no way to justify letting that many people die every day, especially with a vaccine right around the corner.
Looks like Pfizer might get approval in Britain over the next few days:

There’s a reason so many people die in plagues. I used to think it’s because of how bad they were but evidently it’s because of people not wanting to follow instruction. Spanish Flu killed young too and I wonder how they reacted, probably the same Unfortunately

You’re giving people way too much credit by expecting different
Oxford vaccine offers 70% efficacy, with modifications to dosing potentially pushing the number up to 90%:
bbc.co.uk/news/health-55040635
Not a big deal that it's a lower percentage for now, because it's comparatively cheap and easy to store. It could serve as an effective bridge to immunity throughout Europe while America doubles down on the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. It would be very good if there were numerous effective vaccines throughout the world so that distribution could be focused on specific geographic areas.
It usually takes 3-5 years to develop a vaccine. I feel like this s*** is about to become a larger disaster especially being that some of these companies just looking to collect billions from this.
I do pray that we get one that is legit and works but I am seriously worried
One this this pandemic has taught me is that pure selfishness / ignorance has been plaguing us long before this hit.
Covid only caused it to really jump out at me.

Hospitals are still overwhelmed despite the lockdowns

Death from disease isnt new and neither is a pandemic
The only thing new is the virus but it has a lot in common with s*** we've seen before lmao
Because people are really dumb 🥺
How am i dumb nigga i cite all my sources
You niggas think staying inside forever gon stop a disease
or that wearing cloth over your face will stop disease
