indoor dining spots that got signs like

“Mask required to enter restaurant but can be removed while dining”

tbh indoor dining during covid really doesn’t make sense. random groups of ppl in enclosed space all w no masks on.

    dumbest s*** ever

I also saw tons of bars open during halloween weekend. this country is hopeless ffs.

    these "lockdowns" aren't doing anything

states need to put orders in where you get heavily fined without a mask. need to have covid police in large areas. need to fine businesses that don't properly enforce mask rules.

start taking money from people and they will notice

140k cases daily, and these b****es in my groupchat not only back going to the bar, but asking us in there "can you really get reinfection"

Zero icu beds in Jackson,Mississippi . Mask mandate is needed for the whole state ASAP.😳

“With COVID-19 cases ramping up, Mississippi’s capital city has run out of ICU beds.

“Zero ICU beds in Jackson. Very few elsewhere. Please protect yourself and your family,” Mississippi State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said in a grim tweet this morning.

Across the entire state, only 106 ICU beds remain available out of 888 total. For two days in a row, the state has reported more than 1,200 new cases, including 1,271 today.

There is still no statewide mask mandate; Gov. Tate Reeves allowed it to expire on Sept. 30 after the state successfully beat back the summer wave—a decision Dobbs had shown discomfort with at the time.

Jackson is not the only large Mississippi city with no or few ICU beds available. Five remain in the state’s second largest city, Gulfport, and none in neighboring Biloxi. There are zero ICU beds available in Southaven and just one in nearby Olive Branch, both located in DeSoto County, where the sheriff is refusing to enforce mask and social distancing orders.

In Hattiesburg, located in Forrest and Lamar counties, only one ICU bed remains. Greenville in Washington County is down to just one ICU bed.

Yesterday, Reeves extended his “Safe Recovery” executive order for another month, requiring residents in 15 counties to wear face masks in public places.

“I know that we are all tired and ready to move on. But the virus is still here,” the governor said in a statement yesterday, one day after he announced that his youngest daughter had tested positive for COVID-19; the rest of the family tested negative yesterday.

Reeves added five new counties to the list that were not previously under mask mandates, including Covington, Humphreys, Lauderdale, Rankin and Yalobusha counties.

Today and yesterday, Mississippi reported 17 more deaths—deaths “which we should remember are avoidable,” Dobbs wrote in a tweet yesterday.

‘It’s Still Working to Infect and Kill’

The number of Mississippians hospitalized for COVID-19 also rose to 669—the highest it’s been since the summer surge, when hospitals across the state were overwhelmed with patients. Fewer than 1,500 staffed hospital beds remain available, or about 20% of the total statewide.

“It’s still working to infect and kill. We’ve gotten far better at dealing with it, and allowing for life to go on. But we’re not all the way there yet,” Gov. Reeves said in yesterday’s statement. “Keep fighting and protecting the most vulnerable in your life. No matter where you are, please do your best to social distance and wear a mask.”

The governor’s order yesterday means that the mask mandates he put in place for nine counties last month will continue until at least Dec. 11. Those counties are: Benton, Carroll, DeSoto, Forrest, Harrison, Jackson, Lamar, Leflore, Lee and Marshall. Those orders had been set to expire today.

The governor let mask orders expire today for seven other counties that have shown improvement, including Itawamba, Neshoba, Claiborne, Chickasaw, Jones, Leake and Madison.”

this isn't like a flu vaccine this is like a potential polio level of certainty

Do your own research i guess and have a nice monday

yeah it was honestly mind blowing reading about their mRNA method back during the summer. I didn't invest into it cause everything was moderna back then, but it sounds really good

Almost, but after a few days we found out that it was illegal for government to order the killing of them, they broke our constitution, so now hell is lose.

Man I’m so conflicted. Been unemployed since March and unemployment benefits are joke.

Sitting at home really made me depressed af, and feel like a complete loser

Plus, my mom pushed me to accept the job.

I need the money but I don’t want to get sick and even worse develop long term side effects

If you really need the money then all you can do is be as safe as you can be (do you have access to good masking and eye protection?) but if that's not the case please prioritize your health. I've been in a lot of life threatening experiences but my physical health has never been something I've had to worry up about up to this point thankfully and was even critical to navigating some of those situations.

Another way I think about this was summer of 2019...bought some tickets to Iceland after ducking some really scary s***. Pockets and my mental were completely broken but my body was well so I could just through myself at the trip. Met 35+ people, only paid for lodging twice, went around the while country in two weeks waking up in a new world daily feeling more liberated than I ever had been. No way I could have been doing all the walking and hiking and gonig without an actual meal for the first three days I was doing over there if my lungs were in bad shape.

Please do whatever you can to stay safe and keep your people safe too.

More than half are not following the mask advisory.

Media has corrupted people into thinking this is ultimate hinderance. No amount of push back works. I just saw a video on a beach after the spread announcement & majority were not wearing a mask & in groups together. 😒

Now I’m not going to preach on the mountain. But.....it’s clear the mask advisory isn’t enough.

And it isn’t just the United States. For some reason, Asia is more observant to the mask advisory. It would be interesting to see the hospital covid numbers or other respiratory outbreaks in that continent.

I’m not sure what we can do with a public that is this contrarian.

It makes you wonder about when another outbreak occurs. What happens to this country? The media that is being consumed will instruct them once again “ just be aware get vitamin d, drink water, exercise”

I don’t know a solution or even how to not be authoritarian if a worse virus is unleashed in our population in the near future.

How do you do it? It doesn’t help we have people on social media like Alex Jones pretend like this is fascism. It isn’t just one person putting out this message, it’s being blasted by thousands around the world. There’s countless YouTube discord etc and they are just yammering on about lockdowns being tyranny. There’s no training for that. Everyone is a self designated expert. 😳

Even if states were to put in heavy mask fines, wouldnt it be up to the police of each town/city to issue those fines? And from what we learned in the past few months, there are a lot of police chiefs that arent willing to enforce such measures?💀
