I think they're talking about an absolute death rate (IFR? CFR?) that doesn't exist at this point. Any functional death rate would drop if cases went up and deaths did not.

They tried acting like death rate would be closer to Spanish flu if people didn’t wash their hands and s***, which makes no sense lol. Taking precautions lowers the spread, doesn’t lower how strong the damn virus is once u have it 😂

Sounds like they're using death rate interchangeably with death totals, which doesn't make any sense. There are too many factors that have changed in terms of medical care and immunity to compare the inherent deadliness of the Spanish Flu and COVID-19.
