You think more places are gonna reopen soon once the riots are done? The people are gonna need something to get their mind off all this, crazy how people can’t even distract themselves by going to the gym

Or do you think the government and media are gonna keep hammering the race war down our throats until we go full anarchy and all kill each other?

race war. it was going on before this but events like this just ramp it up.

I do think even when places open up the media will still cram it down our throats, but we'll at least have some place to get away from it. Tbh I don't think too many places will open up though since a lot of them have been damaged and struggling financially

Have beaches in Miami, Florida opened back up yet? Thinking about taking a small vacation there at the tail end of July.

So my thoughts are that this is generally going to lead to a rapid acceleration of what was already bound to be a summer of people starting to move out into the world again, how do y'all feel?

  • Jun 2, 2020

As a teacher, I'm going to be honest, I really hope that it does lead to normalization. Teaching/learning from home is super ineffective for kids younger than 16, and for selfish reason, I just like being in the classroom a lot more than being behind a computer screen.

I guess that by like the end of August we'll probably be in about the same place either way. This is just making it so instead of gradually getting there we're flipping a switch

Well, either the protests will jumpstart things into becoming normal again because we’ll all see that hundreds can gather together and not spread the virus.

Or, we see a huge uptick in numbers lol. The numbers were slowing, presumably thanks to social distancing, but it’s not like it’s gone. We still added 200,000 cases in the last 10 days.

  • Jun 3, 2020

Now that recoveries are being more frequently reported, the number of active cases has gone static. The number of active cases today is virtually identical to the number on May 20 and has declined for 3 straight days.

Looking at case studies of all the different severities that CAN come from this scare me so much lol

I hate the idea that I could get it and I could be fine or my brain could blow. I just like absolutes I guess

That's what I'm saying they do not have to be as transparent anymore even if they were

You can check testing numbers for yourself:

    covidtracking.com/data

And if you can't or don't believe them, well, why believe anything? At some point, you have to buy in at least a little, or it's all meaningless.

I’m just glad the math pointing out that we don’t have a bad problem in my area, even with testing becoming more available. Still horribly few amounts are being done, but it’s the only thing to keeps me sane

If we had Florida numbers I would be beyond a hypochondriac
