as a black american, this virus is such a weird thing to witness man. especially with it hitting us so hard. there are major figures in my community that have passed away from this.

and we don’t have the needed equipment at our hospitals or the testing to survive a second wave but we’re in the middle of reopening.

it’s so weird seeing niggas just not take it seriously while our people are actively dying. i work at a job that requires me to go to multiple large stores a week for hours at a time. so i’m kinda hoping the second wave hits before i have to go back to work so i don’t risk the chance of catching it because me and my family are at a high risk to die if we get it. i really just hope we make it out without getting sick and i can work on my ideas and passions and make use of the free time productively or at least enjoy it.

i had to tell my mom to not let my sister and my nephews come over anymore. and it really sucks because i love them and want to see them. but my dad passed away when i was a kid and i peeped that my sister isn’t taking it serious and is interacting with people as if nothing happened and who knows what people they’re crossing paths with.

if my mom died young that would tear me up and she’s at risk because of health complications. it’s so real bro. there are people who are older and did everything right, wore the mask and washed their hands and only left to get groceries. and they still died.

i say that to say please take it serious because you can try to flip the stats to make it seem like it’s not a big deal or do whatever to make yourself feel good about it but the truth is when you’re fraternizing with these niggas and then coming around your family, you are risking the life of everyone you know, and IF they would be fortunate enough to recover if they caught it, just the trauma of getting this virus in a moment like this is enough to damage somebody’s psyche. and “sorry” won’t be enough. if you grown you should understand the stakes at this point.
