US daily cases charts compared to other countries (mostly Europe) is a joke and shows how serious people take this virus here overall.

Yes, there is less testing and the numbers of cases and deaths aren't fully transmitted on weekends (from saturday to monday usually).

Not Virginia we got strict guidelines and our governor is playing his cards right

Mr. Blackface has been handling this pretty well, lol. We also have enough supplies to test anybody with symptoms now.

No, it's true. The heat makes the virus slightly weaker and more difficult to access, but if you live densely together, it doesn't help very much.

This is also one of the reasons why experts saying that we stay on a level with small waves here and there during the summer and the even larger second wave comes in the autumn for every country.

Then let's hope it won't show up at our doorstep at all after this summer

Texas is about to be the new hotbed of the virus

They are skyrocketing in cases and deaths always lag behind 2 weeks so it’s literally back to square one for that state.

    What a s*** show

When do we think international flights will resume?

  • May 3, 2020
    A Calm Ye

Let’s be honest the most likely outcome is we don’t develop and scale a vaccine over the next 5-10 years.

How are we gonna deal with this s***?

Scaling won't be a large issue, it's mostly testing and the long term effects. Some of the vaccines they are testing are already being mass produced in case they are effective.

However, if we don't develop a vaccine, then the likely outcome is herd immunity in some degree and a lot of people are gonna die as a consequence and the virus will continue to strike in periods but our bodies will adapt to it.

    Depends where you wanna go

Spain has already talked about blocking all tourism this summer (mostly bc Americans) and they are one of the biggest tourist hotspots in the world

Not sure They’ve just had discussions about it

America is miles behind all other developed countries right now with the handling of the virus. Most of Europe is already on the road to recovery but here cases are surging again in the south (big surprise)

I am NOT someone who thinks that the virus is going to disappear in the summer, not a bit.

But it can't be a coincidence that the biggest hotspots in America right now are New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan. All states with higher population densities and colder weather.

Meanwhile, Texas, Florida, Georgia, California, Arizona, no comparable surge. Louisiana had a short lived surge that was curbed quickly. Phoenix is the 6th largest city in the nation and I haven't heard one word about their coronavirus cases.

Everyone is waiting on a huge surge in the south, especially Florida, but what if it doesn't happen until the fall or winter? I know that we can't depend on the weather to save us, it won't, but the regional breakdown points to it being a factor.

The coronavirus surge formula seems to be high population density + aging/vulnerable population + reliance on public transportation + cold weather - social distancing = massive surge.

    Hope you right about this

Damn some of my coworkers are getting called to work and if they decline the job their unemployment benefits could be terminated. I'm scared to get a call but don't want to lose the benefits as well

I’m very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately your President is not the smartest man to put it lightly. I wish America all the best with recovery. We are slowly but surely getting there
