if people go back to trusting their governments when this passes then we're hopeless, especially on the verge of large-scale climate disaster

Don't go, so many people all over the country are going there for spring break even during a pandemic. I know at least a dozen people that went, and all I can think is "what are these guys dooooing"

I'll trust our government if we have trustworthy people in office.

Plenty of states are doing the right thing right now. I think Ohio is a great example of the state gov't not even listening to the president and taking matters into their own hands

    From my friend in Naples

Where I live, the situation is not so bad: there are a few cases, but we expect more cases in the next days. The problem is in North Italy. There are like thousands of cases, the hospitals are full, nurses and doctors work 12 hours per day and they are exhausted. Most of the infected people need the right treatment and need to go to intensive care (I don't know if it is the right term, sorry), but every hospital has few rooms for intensive care. If the virus will continue to spread, the doctors will have to choose which patient has to survive and that is very scary. So now in Italy we have to stay at home, we can move only for work or for shopping at the market. Restaurants, shopping centers, bars, schools and universities are all closed until 3rd April. It is important to follow the sanitary rules and to stay at home to reduce the infection.
