Bet they can add some more to that
Yes but
This stimulus bill is already massive
On top of that feeding the TRULY EXPONENTIAL increase in unemployment would inflate us like Venezuela

2 trillion is added on top of already 23 trillion
Sure the bill is big but it's not even 10% of the current debt.
If handled well this whole thing wouldn't be such an economic nightmare btw. Just terribly mishandled on every turn.

debt we've been accumulating for how long?
in comparison to 2 trillion instantaneously?
Sharpest unemployment spike in American history, yet ktt is clueless
How is ktt clueless half of the people posting rn are recently unemployed

Yeah I know but there's a difference between wasting half the budget on military and spending 2 trillion to try to save your country.

The military budget was over the length of an entire war campaign that lasted well over a decade
This was literally all at once instantly, completely different.
I agree with you.
This is very, very bad.

This stimulus package can't stop a freight train

If we go into a deep recession the government should just make avengers movies

I understand the frustration with China's ineptitude in cracking down on wet markets. And China should have alerted the public about what was going on earlier. But the west had 2 f***ing months to prepare. They don't have an excuse for how badly they bungled this pandemic response. China's neighbors prepared for this thing as soon as knowledge about this virus went public. Just saying fam
you cant prepare for something like that in just 2 months if you continuously underfund the health system for years, just for profit like the west mostly did

Yeah but it was an unnecessary war on every point that cost a total of 2.5 trillion and I'm not talking about the whole budget every year but just what was spent on that war for oil. Cutting down the unnecessary spending would easily bring it up to 5.
But tbh technically that 2 trillion package would be enough....if it was only for citizens and small businesses and companies that weren't making profits. All those corporations who manipulated the markets with their profits shouldn't have gotten a single dollar.
Anyway, this is a terrible situation on every point but stricter lockdowns can only help both the healthcare system and the economy.

Isn’t it ironic that America had probably one of the best (imo the best) presidents of all time FDR to pull it out of the Great Depression, and we have Donald Trump (presuming he gets re-elected) to hope to pull us out of this
