It's not all bad though. If lots of people had it or have a very mild case and don't know, there's a lot we can learn about how the immune system interacts with the virus, as well as determining a realistic CFR.

The new wave is isolating parts of the immune response, the antibodies that are really doing good work, and replicating them in big vats the way alcohol is fermented so that they can be transmitted to patients through injection, IV, whatever. This is basically how patients with primary immunodeficiency disorders are treated their whole lives.

But the first step is finding healthy people with immunity and that's very difficult in a quarantine. Mass testing is a good start and I have read that NY is interested.
