LXSLmao @ everybody attacking me. There are two general paths to be taken, and neither of them is necessarily wrong to take. There are a lot of factors to take into account and we won’t know which was right until all has blown over. I’m not saying opening by Easter is the right thing to do, it’s dumb. But long term lockdown is not either, and as soon as it’s lifted things will resume. Infection is inevitable to some degree.
The biggest thing is making sure hospitals don’t get overrun.
Anyone that’s seen me in this thread knows I’ve been talking about shutting things down for weeks. Same people that were saying this was just the flu a few weeks ago now calling me dumb lmao
exactly, like obviously yes the top priority by far should be to flatten the curve, but the people who quoted you must be in a position where they dont have to worry about their whole well-being getting thrown away due to a prolonged shutdown
then they’ll be the same ones to externalize blame when people are jumping off bridges and onto train tracks

Actually the dems bended backwards and gave the republicans everything and they only got crumbs in exchange. The only dem who was left fighting was Bernie so he gave up just so the american people can at least get those crumbs asap but it’s a terrible bill and it’s better to watch the country burn with Trump to build up the opposition for 2024 than have a senile idiot who won’t do any good but not as much bad as Trump would. Nothing would be worst than keeping the terrible status quo.

Yeah in no way it's a perfect bill but it's better than what was initially proposed and I'm glad it has a stipulation to stop trump using the relief for his own businesses.
