Anybody losing income in anyway because of the coronavirus, whether you're self-employed, laid off or still got your job but no hours and no pay, you get 2k per month and it is not a loan, it's yours.

Unemployment is gone for the meantime. CERB is the new EI. So everybody who was on EI or was just going to get on it, they're being moved to CERB. EI capped at 2.3k anyway and that was for the highest earners which were very few out of everybody on EI so this 2k for everybody is a much higher average than what EI was.

The portal is supposed to be up and running starting on April 6th and they promised that the money would be received within 10 days of application.

Also, incase you're struggling, the feds also came to an agreement with financial institutions so if you want you can freeze your current loans whether it's for a car or a house. I mean, call the bank and ask what is possible exactly and if they still add up the months. I'm planning to call tomorrow to see for myself but if everything still adds up but interest free I'mma keep paying lol. I don't wanna pay a couple months at once, no point in freezing then.
