One of the deadliest worldwide pandemics ever, which had a death rate of around 10%, the 1918 H1N1 "Spanish Flu" originated in Kansas...

possibly, no one is for sure where that came from

Then, why they called it “Spanish flu”?

They’ll freeze shutdowns of that stuff.

    Just like mortgages and rent

Is this confirmed yet in any areas or is it just wishful thinking

Spain was a neutral country in WW1 and was the first place to report cases because they weren’t censoring for the war effort

i might be crazy, but chances are if you’re still going to work, ride public transportation, go grocery shopping etc etc you’ve probably come into contact with this virus.

i don’t know about “no immunity” there’s no way we’ve all completely avoided it

the usa is at 15,000 reported cases

they're 2 weeks behind testing which means with an r0 of 2.5 and its incubation period that means we've doubled already 3 times since these numbers

this means we are approaching 100k cases already and will continue to double every 4 days

this means by april 1st we'll be approaching over 500,000 cases in the united states

    all math

and the cherry on top is the up to 2 week incubation period where you'll feel fine meaning that inaccurate testing could again downplay the infection spread

    i'm a fear monger btw

If the infection rate continues to grow the CFR will be much higher as healthcare infrastructure struggles to keep up.

We're past this argument now, this is just fact.

How about working through your own cognitive biases (confirmation specially) and do some solid research.

Don't go crazy or overpay if you don't have to, sadly facemasks are better then nothing - but make a minimal difference.

the point of a face mask is to protect people from your germs not the other way around lmao

to try to downplay it at this point with the classic "oh its just a flu" has to be considered trolling lol

you didn’t highlight what i said that was incorrect. I already acknowledge healthcare not keeping up when i said the virus “ being harder to control is understandable as it’s new.”

Someone has the video where american experts admit recent cases of the flu from 2019 might have been covid before they even knew what it was?

    Edit: found it

Nvm the tweet tho since we cant say for sure if the first chinese case was in november
