dont think the fans complaining and people who do listen to more substantive artists are necessarily different audiences. probly moreso that they're the vocal minority in megan's fanbase, rather than representative of it as a whole

also this idea that "they needa feed their families" and "this is what sells" somehow exempts those figures from criticism is p goofy. but agreed that listeners should also take accountability for the messaging they consume/propagate

then theres just the instances where even though the subject matter may be deeply compelling, it doesnt mean that the music itself is particularly good.

one of my fav glorilla songs is no more Love, but ive rarely heard music from meg that reaches that level of visceral emotion. she's tried but as was pointed out -- the fervency for that material isnt there. but ion think thats a reason to stop trying
