The reason I levy these criticisms is because I don't think any wide modern discussions about race, or even things like gay rights, or similar, have legitimacy or are anything but disingenuous. This isn't because I'm turned off by concepts in and of themselves; like, no, I don't want racial oppression like any other reasonable person. But I see all of these discourses - especially modern race discourse as originated in western schools of thought - primarily as products of a market shifting capital rather than as a product of legitimate strives for equality. This is why I say social liberalization follows market liberalization - the same changes are destined to happen in any society that wants to maintain its market, its inescapable so long as capitalist growth is at the center of the system. Think about this in the framework of the early 1900s; if a restaurant wants to make more money, at the end of the day, what would be the better way to do so? To only serve white men, or to serve white men and women? And then, how do you keep growing? You have to either raise prices and hope your audience stays, or you have to expand to black men, and eventually black women, because how else could you keep making money? (this is just a quick example, so don't dissect this too much, I can go into more detail with an actual example if you want) "Social liberalization" doesn't mean "human rights", what it means is "the illusion of progress by masking capitalist intention with liberal symbology".

Well that example doesn't work cause white Men and women could eat in the restaurant in the first place and were fine. It took violent protests in the 60s for anyone to make a legitimate law to not allow business discrimination to happen right?

It's just a theoretical example of the logic itself, it's not supposed to be a legitimate example. A far better example would be campaigns for inclusion of women in the workforce in the early 1900s. It's also conditional obviously; like there of course is going to be nuance in any detached example just because real life isn't as linear in how events unfold as philosophy or narrative. It's also not supposed to be a defense of capitalism for example if you're reading it that way

After Bernie lost I realized that Liberals don’t really care about real change and they are essentially the same as conservatives. I’m leaning conservative now. Democrat politicians make promises and campaign on left values, then do nothing. if both parties produce the same outcome I’m for the party that just doesn’t pretend

After Bernie lost I realized that Liberals don’t really care about real change and they are essentially the same as conservatives. I’m leaning conservative now. Democrat politicians make promises and campaign on left values, then do nothing. if both parties produce the same outcome I’m for the party that just doesn’t pretend

Trump was trash and him being in office was the best chance for a leftist president to be elected after him and the country choose biden. Doesn’t seem like liberals want a leftist president 😕

I get it, but I would rather vote on individuals instead of party then if you sound like you don't like either.

I don't like the idea that just because someone is open about being an a****** then that makes them better

Yeah but your og post is confusing now? Cause it seemed liked some left leaning ideas Bernie brought, but now don't cause of the democratic party which shouldn't influence how you feel about your beliefs/policies. Unless you were just conservative and gave Bernie a shot as opposed to Trump

My beliefs/policies have not changed. If the 2024 democrat nominee is someone like Bernie I will vote for them 100 percent, I just don’t have faith in the Democratic Party anymore. We have a two party system and the party that is supposed to be progressive is not
