a few years ago when people began s***ting on J Cole (no comparison just saying it was around the same time) memes started popping up about "all MF DOOM says is rhyme random words with cheetos and fritos and white teenagers love it". was super prominent on twitter especially and newer hip hop platforms like No Jumper and people adjacent to Akademiks helped promote that stuff. overall in hip hop he's always gotten the praise he deserves but that stuff was super prominent on socail media
