what was the first DOOM song y'all heard? mine was rhymes like dimes (not counting s*** i might have heard from other media ofc)
Red and Gold
There was an old Turntable TV video on Youtube back in the day where this dude from the 12 Inch Assassins was scratching up the "Shoot Em Up Movies" sample and he was like "i call this s*** Red And Gold"
Only to find out he was referring to MF DOOM.... downloaded Operation Doomsday and it changed my life....
MF DOOM: "Nas is my brother. That’s my brother. My other brother from another mother. That’s all I could say. This n- got a lot of s*** going on. We got some work done, but we ain’t record it. He would freestyle and have fun and s***. We should have recorded some of the freestyles this n- did. He did one freestyle over this beat that I got, this Special Herbs beat that nobody used yet, right? The n- ripped the whole s*** from beginning to end. That’s how you know who’s really nice. The mothafucka’s nasty. Certain cats just have a natural knack for it. Nas is nice. That n-’s nasty, matter of fact. I said that n-’s nice? He’s not nice, he’s nasty. I don’t know if I’m gonna rhyme with him laughing but I’ll be doing some production s***, more or less. That n-’s too crazy. He could go off the top too ill. That’s what it’s about."
"Ah, man, okay, I was at Nas’ pool party. That s*** was dope. It was the day after, like it was still going on, so a real private thing.
It was dope, just like the day after the party when the party goes into another day. I was late — I had my girl or whatever, you know how the Villain works — but that was the flyest pool party. That s*** was cool. I even brought a present, a painting I made, and just snuck it in there, put it up. Pauses That might be the only pool party I ever been to."

Thanks gonna read this soon

It's crazy how Doom came off as both an old soul and a Peter Pan at the same time.
His came off wise and old-fashioned on one hand but fun/quirky and leftfield on the other. Which is why he's so embraced by many generations of rap fans.
Born Like This and TMTYL are his most underrated projects. Been listening to these all day
Crazy that in 2008 Nas wanted his entire next album to be produced by Jay Elect and DOOM and it never came to fruition.
DOOM also said that one of the newer artists he would work with is Kanye... i wonder if they ever worked behind the scenes

It was the #1 artist he wanted to work with.
Would have been the biggest album in DOOM's career.

Can’t even imagine how amazing that might’ve been. Damn.
Someone in the replies to the original tweet said he was homeless for a hot ass minute and ended up overstaying his visa by about a decade
I guess it’s like a “strike” system? They compared it to 21 Savage’s situation, but I believe a politician bailed him out.
I would be appalled to think none of these rappers could get Obama’s ear (or just a congressman), and get this brotha in the states. They said he himself stopped trying in 2012
Wtf "strike" system lol this country & their immigration laws man smh
