weekend 2 passes are much cheaper if that’s an option for you fyi @sendme
word I might try to do that. I had nothing to do today so I took the drive and am like 15 min away
@Bow_And_Arrow @cosmogramma did yall see Gorillaz or James Blake? went with James since I saw Gorillaz last year and Trugoy the Dove (RIP) and Yasiin were both there
James Blake killed
Went to Gorillaz. It was a great show they brought out a bunch of guests and played most of the hits. Was a bummer to miss James but that's how it goes
Alright so boom. Got in to the festival at doors and was able to get merch relatively quick (90 minutes). Got some Jai Paul, Bad Bunny, and Chem Bros shirts so successful haul. No Frank merch at all which is super strange, especially since headliner gets its own merch tent. Missed Lewis Ofman because it was too early and saw a few minutes of Comet is Coming and headed to the Sonora for the first full set.
Soul Glo was a great way to start the fest. Great energy from the crowd and of course the band. Ended with Whogonbeatmyass which was
Saba right after was solid and he worked well for that stage/time placement. Always love a band with my rap show and no backing track is key too.
I went for Overmono next because it was in a tent as opposed to Pusha T and that was a lot of fun. It would've been better later in the evening, but it being so early made it possible to see or else it would've been a mess conflict wise.
Wet Leg brought out all the parents and ripped through basically every song they have. Always a good time.
Burna Boy was next and he was amazing as always. It was my friends' first time seeing him and they all thought he was the best set of the day. Last Last continues to be one of the best songs ever
Crowd for Kaytranada was huge which good for him, but we were back pretty far so the energy could've been better. He played some Sam Gellaitry though
Gorillaz next and they are a perfect sub headliner in my opinion. I've seen people say the crowd was super dead but it seemed fine by me? Good amount of people singing along and of course Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood were highlights.
The Chemical Brothers. 10/10 no notes. I was entranced for 90 minutes
Managed to get a decent spot for Bad Bunny. Opening with Titi Me Pregunto was an absurd power move and he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Lots of hits, great stage design too. We ended up leaving during that random ass Post Malone guest spot (why him??) because it seemed like his time was gonna be up. Looks like he still played even more hits so that was a bummer to miss, but overall still an excellent headlining show by one of the biggest artists in the world.
Should be another marathon today, Jai Paul is gonna be something special
last last live must of been insane
Didnt see the Yves show but I’m seeing them next month in detroit
Was it any good? All videos I’ve seen to date of Yves performances kinda suck
