might be one of the very few instances where an album does not have one miss from start to finish, not one song where I feel like "alright that's enough" or "unnecessary" it's so insane

Nostalgia of course plays a huge role as well, can’t put LGSEO over it yet… but I might maybe in some years

I have to put Outkast over Clipse as for now because all their albums are classics but Clipse proving they can still do this in 2025 makes Outkast over Clipse argument a little harder tho

For example I think Whips and Chains following Birds Don’t Sing is very intentional.

Like you get this very heartfelt tribute to their parents who were able to really reach them and guide them.

Then it transitions to this bleak f*** everyone else sorta song and it’s an Uncle (idk if it’s a literal uncle) now who’s critiquing him for being about money and push is like f*** all that. But I think that’s pretty clean and registers to me. Like going from parents straight to uncle was interesting to me. When I lost my dad and an uncle tried to pull my ear, I was like man I don’t want to hear this from you rn. So i may be coloring that with my own perspective lol.

But overall, I think the album is about triumph. Coming out of the fire of trials and tribulations and feeling like you won. Winning is an egotistical thing (Push - where’s my prize at? Push is at war with the industry of music everywhere on this album. He thinks he’s won and is last man standing.) and it can also be self evaluation (Malice - I done been both Mason Bethas) to reflect on. But they both feel like their reaping the reward of the journey in their own ways. I think both of them dabble in both spectrums as well. I think this would be a great final Clipse album.

I hope this album shows 3 Stacks that it’s possible to be an elder statesman and make high quality rap, a return OutKast album would restore the feeling

Super agree on that. I’ve been saying to my friends for a few years now that Pusha has to be Top 15 all time from a pure talent perspective. After this album, he’s creeping into that Top 10 range

IT really has to be discussed them being brothers make their chemistry A1. They never look lost on songs i swear lol

I think OutKast is number one. I have Mobb Deep and Clipse neck and neck….i have them ahead of Mobb Deep but I don’t think either is like a slam dunk. I kinda wish Raekwon/Ghost were an official duo.

Its so difficult to make a top 5, id be leaving too many great tracks out.
If i had to do one right now, it'd be chains & whips, pov, so be it, mtbttf and inglorious b******s, but it could change 5 minutes from now.
Don't even have any interest in checking out the jackboys album, this is taking all my listening time.
Also malice outrapped push on damn near every song imo, dude hasnt lost his touch at all

Outkast would 100% drop another classic
