DBD one of the most underrated rap albums of the last decade. literally some of the best beats from timb’s career on there (got em covered… )

    Been saying this

Not the biggest fan of the Kehlani feature but Retribution, Untouchable and especially Got Em Covered are all crazy

FIFA is also a pretty wild Q-Tip beat

Push consistency is top 5 OAT. Yeah I said it

What would a rough tracklist of King Push look like?

cant be sure but im guessing DDA, coming home, sisters & brothers, hard piano OG version and probably that GHTV one were all meant to be on it

    IAD over MNIMN is crazy

I relistened to the album a couple weeks ago and I did not enjoy a good chunk of it. Really felt like a bit of a compromised effort, with him sounding out of place on some of the commercial attempts.

The album has some crazy highs like King Push, Numbers On The Board, Hold On, Nosetalgia and Pain but overall I think IAD stuck the landing a bit better and didn’t feel compromised at all. The only real downside to IAD is Pharrell’s production getting mad repetitive with the drums.

    ehh it is more consistant
MMIMN has a lot of filler despite having 2 of pushas best songs

yeah agreed, if MNIMN had the daytona 7 track format with the fat cut out it would probably be one of his best

It’s definitely got higher highs then IAD (not super hot on either, I think DBD and Daytona are the great ones) but IAD overall doesn’t really have songs that felt like reaching for a hit aside from Scrape It Off.

Intro(King Push) is the best Metro beat that Metro never produced.

This is how the song was from 2016 to early 2018. Find it funny Pusha worked with BNYX before Drake.

I remember hearing the metro version where the 808 was throughout and everyone thought it was Travis Scott vocals chopped up.

@Titan13 thought it was @Water_Giver or someone else that illuminated me on the leftover tracks that were supposed to be on the album.

KSG probably benefited being only 7 songs, but i think it truly hurtDaytona would have been that much better had those 3-4 made it (Names are blanking me but think ones called Brothers and Sisters, unless im trippin

Nah those cut tracks are solid but they are 7/10. Daytona to me is back to back 10s. Less is more.

It’s almost dry and my name is my name both have some not as amazing tracks that bring it below Daytona for me

  • This tape was very hit and miss early in his solo career but there’s some gems. “Alone in Vegas” is one of my favorite push hooks. Tyler has matured a lot lol.
