the dull color grading and overrall visual identity, which feel opposite to the descriptions in Homer's poem ; the boat they used which is a drakkar when they could have just as easily chose a true greek one (some are available) ; some of the dialogue choices ("dad", "daddy" "let's go") feel both anachronic and flat out ridiculous ; the catchphrase of the trailer "not even the gods" which is also a total misreading of the poem, and the list goes on. one could also mention the horrendous armors of the big ass dudes attacking Odysseus and his men in the forest, which are also laughable
Hour away my guy
That’s nothing I was over there on the weekend all the time
I ain’t claiming Boston anyway just that I been there some bro asked me if I was from Boston cuz I posted a joke post with a yankee accent lmfao

Okay, but the "not even the gods" quote looks like it's Odysseus saying it immediately after the war of Troy, indicating that he's completely incorrect and has no idea what's actually coming for him lmao.
A lot of fans was disappointed with Oppenheimer(myself included), I don’t think this will get Nolan back on track

3h talky biopic drama grossing almost $1B worldwide, but sure, people were disappointed.

lmao "a lot of fans were disappointed" and yet it has high audience scores on letterboxd, rottentomatoes, and imdb
if you don't like the film, just say that. no need to make stuff up about "lots of fans" being disappointed when that clearly isn't the case

people s***ting on this already
my prediction is it will be a lil awkward, a lil cool, and a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars
ok honest thoughts on new trailer make me feel like the story is a bit jumbled. i'm not familiar with The Odyssey. I think I remember certain stories and I think those stories may come from The Illiad. Either way it looks like there is a lot going on in this film. The Tom Holland/Anne Hathaway arc seems like it's taking place in one location. There's matt damon in flashbacks as a younger man and matt damon in present day with a longer beard (presumably). We're balancing a lot here. Now I believe Oppenheimer was excellent BECAUSE of how the film is edited and put together so I don't doubt Nolan but regardless this does seem like a huge undertaking that COULD potentially feel more exhaustive and unfocused than clear. I still think the best promotional material for this film has been that scene they showed of the wooden horse.
