Okay dialogue, I never see an issue. It's epic/superhero dialogue. His action scenes are great, who tf says they aren't? Characters ranged from thin and serve the plot vs good character arc. The plot, story, and scale of the movies are what push his movies above other directors. The color grading is just standard? Idk what to say for a movie like Oppenheimer or Odyssey which is primarily water and stone.

I was just bringing up people trying to be contrarian on tiktok and try to lap up "smart people" to be different on hating Nolan's work.

I just don’t get how he isn’t good at dialogue. Several of the most iconic lines of dialogue this century came from his films.

And I don’t think people say his colors are bland. They just say his movies aren’t super colorful which isn’t a bad thing. His movies still are visually top notch and s*** on anything else being made nowadays. You want an example of bland visuals, watch Dune.

Most people would disagree that he can’t write characters well or shoots poor action. Some of the best action scenes this century are from Nolan movies like the convoy chase in TDK or the hallway fight in Inception. Even for some of the weak female characters in his films, bro still wrote Murph and Catwoman.

This was cool. I did feel like she asked the same question 3 times in the middle section about hubris, repentance and what not. This also felt like Nolan’s response to that translator lady.

when he says "I'm coming back for all of it" or some s*** and then you get that sub bass hit

people are gassing the last act but I think I found that the most lacking, the blocking of the combat was only okay. Second act went craaaaazy tho.
