ImLikeThatNot saying I agree with what she said but isn’t her point more that these characters are dwindled down to generic poc tropes rather than getting to be real characters?
Obviously profoundly stupid since Himesh and Leguizimo clearly have far more to do here than just simply be aids to Odysseus but I don’t think this take is racist, even if it’s wrong and annoying since many of the characters in this film serve small purposes to the overall narrative like Samantha Morton or Benny Safdie.
She's trying to be progressive with her critique in the movie's writing when a lot of the white characters are just as shallow as the poc characters

@BigSkinny i'm seeing Airbus is releasing 4 additional times soon. They also are still withholding screenings that fall in its IMAX window. They're finally opening up a 1:45pm showtime during museum hours

yeah i think this convinced me to wait. Kinda wanted to see it in a different formal just cus but i already miss that screen
they definitely still have at least 7-10 days of showtimes they've yet to release though if they're only stopping at 8/9 right now

if you can secure good seats absolutely. dont compromise your seat and comfort just to check the box.

oh yeah, it'll probably be the placeholder screening too all year. Any gaps in films will be filled with this, because its an instant sell

That makes sense actually. The fact she’s focusing on the poc for serving small roles and not the white people is typical neoliberal racism.

Shyngl Nolan lost aura with this. It didn't feel epic to me. Movie was just....loud. And I like loudness when its done.....like Dennis. Hard to explain. Also, just wasn't feeling how the story was tackled here.
