Even Tenet is a pretty fantastic script considering logically the film actually does make sense but it’s made to be more cryptic so it can be a vibes filled action / spy film first which I applaud Nolan on since he’s historically a huge stickler as seen on Inception

Oppenheimer didn’t make me want to go back and watch it again immediately.

I mean he had Goyer for Begins and TDK. That didn’t change s*** lol and Begins is one of his worst scripts

And Insomnia he didn’t write at all and that’s his worst movie

A big component of directing someone else’s screenplay is it’s hard to truly make it yours and so the end product feels generic

I think the real reason Nolan cast Travis Scott is because Nolan has teenage kids who are probably big fans

idk who should have been in the tom holland role but i'll tell you this: elliot page would have been WAY better

Elliot looks way too weak. Sinon was a great role for him

Holland has the likable boyish look like Elliot but he also looks heroic which he lacks

Same. Loved Oppenheimer. Deserves all the praise. This was just incredible.

seen ppl talking about how nolan changed the cyclops scene. i think he was probably wise to make the change he did. the "nobody is blinding me" plot point would have been corny, i think. and if odysseus had run back to tell him his real name, for the cyclops to then know the same so he can tell his god - idk how well this would have worked. in our age, the idea that a god would only know something if prayed to doesnt quite fit in with our concept of a god. so i give a "right choice" assessment to his changes of the cyclops scene

Must see. Third act is an all timer, Robert Pattinson kills it

I liked the horror feel a lot of the scenes had.
It is obvious, too me, that Nolan is an old director.
His movies feels conservative in their language and style

Ehh I dont think thats completely it. Odysseus and his crew, and all the veterans from Troy are symbolically the sea people but also literally the sea people. There's a scene where Odysseus and his crew sack a village and the village people were calling them the sea people but the crew just told them "we're the Greeks, how have you not heard of us".

teenagers are not big fans of anyone anymore sadly

I really liked Tom Holland's delivery of that "my mother's wishes are for you all to burn" line. I felt that s***. Otherwise, he was fine. When Anne, Matt, Robert, etc. are giving the performances they're giving...yeah.
