We ready (no imax tho
)
Very good film on first watch, it didnt blow me away like Dune 2 first watch but a great film very enjoyable.
He re-did the exact narrative spins and storytelling techniques from Oppenheimer, first watch it was good but need a few re-watches to see if I don't think its cheap.
Robert Pattinson = confirmed S tier actor
Tom Holland = poor mans Timothee Chalamet.
Staying the night at the Grand Canyon for IMAX.
Debut is today for The Odyssey, they rarely play films other than the Grand Canyon IMAX film, so this was a surprise.
I watched the Grand Canyon movie to check it out just now, it's f***ing huge.
And I've heard that this is second best screen in all of Arizona, it will be 100% percent ratio, I'm surprised they didn't sell that much, told me they still have hundreds of seats left for today. I thought people would travel for it, but I live fairly close to it so no biggie.
It's raining like crazy, but still going to see the Grand Canyon before Odyssey starts.
What a f***in day
i'm not falling for this

you think psychosis means not giving in to peer pressure?
i'm glad i don't give in to peer pressure and don't care about being cool just because i watched a popular film
1. Obsession
2. Odyssey
3. Backrooms
Top 3 this year but probably the strongest year in film we’ve had in ages

replace backrooms with project hail mary imo
Thankful to be self-employed (aka unemployed) so I can watch movies at 3pm. Grabbing lunch then it’s time
Liked it a lot, didn’t love. Felt like I was always being kept at a distance instead of being allowed to go all in. Still incredibly easy to marvel at the spectacle and audacity though.
Disappointed to once again be let down by Hoyte van Hoytema. A shame because outside of his Nolan collaborations (which has been 90% of his work for the past decade) I think he’s one of the best DP’s working today, but I’m consistently let down by his work with Nolan. I thought given the landscapes and scale he might be able to flex a little bit, and I guess he does, but in general wasn’t floored. I can only assume it’s a result of trying to work around and with the IMAX cameras.
A lot of good to great performances. Damon isn’t doing anything incredible but with all that he has to carry he does enough, and I think it’s time he get recognized in some capacity.
Nolan is 3 for his last 3 with me, and considering there is a LARGE stretch of his career that I don’t enjoy very much, I sort of selfishly see that as an impressive feat.
Just shot my non-spoiler review (raw thoughts)
Sheesh 30k subs congrats bro
