What’s funny is the people hating it for being “woke” would actually love the movie if they saw it

The movie doesn’t even push any progressive narratives or viewpoints. It’s all because Elliot Page plays a very minor roll that’s in it for like 5 minutes

Slight spoiler but the end of the movie is basically a John Wick scene. So many great action scenes and just a fun movie all around

You’re absolutely a mentally ill loser if you hate this for being “woke”

All those people complaining are going to watch the movie though, lol.

Genuinely not worth discussing the people who call egos movie woke when the movie is out

You really do see parts of all of his movies . You see the way in which he missed creating a hero movie . You see Batman at times . The guilt of Oppenheimer. The existentialism of inception . The magic of the prestige . This is in a way his boy and the heron of fusing everything he’s learned while adding in new elements defying what he is known for . I do miss Jodorowsky would love to see an big budget film from him in terms of weirdness garland and Nolan may be the closest I get

Rewatching the trailer to see if I am right now. The trailers show just the perfect amount to truly hook someone. This has parts of every previous Nolan in it. While also breaking from just what we expect from him. Its harrd to watch this and not at moment get flashes of Shadow of The Colossus, 300, Metal Gear Solid , Spirited Away ( Yes I know) and so many more properties all fused together in a movie that pushes Nolan in ways we didnt expect. While at the same time he is having the perfect amount of fun with it.

At its core a story about family, fatherhood, son and a kingdom. the Heroes Journey at its best done. While at the same time fusing the mythological and questioning how we as humans become myths. Holland sometimes I just dont see it but not terrible. Odysseus reminds me of bourne at times but overall Matt Damon got a lot to work with to show the human range of emotion. Samantha Porter floated while delivering a poigant message.

He embraces the perfect level of crazy throughout. Sea a bit underutilized for some likely but the cave sequence reminded me of attack on titan or a great stealth game. The use of tension throughout like fave stealth games and movies really spectacular. Played with what the audience knows and doesnt know.

There are a lot of names to take in but in terms of locations and environments it flows. The pacing of the storytelling works even if it does it in an unconvential way. While I get the costume concerns I feel this movie was really immersive. The feeling of seeing a movie knowing it just had its time on the clock no sequel no spin offs no what ifs and it used every ounce of that time to really land home was beautiful.

I am prepared for rewatches both of this movie and Nolan entire run. There is a beauty to each one of them. I know 70mm IMAX will slap. I saw 70mm but recommend in any format you can see in your area. If you have 70mm or 70mm IMAX I definitely think its worth a trek but if not then Liemax, dolby ,standard or prime worth it.

Please as always see with a packed crowd if possible and lock in. The movie is not without faults by any means but it strives to take the risk that make you feel something at all. I will always commend someone for doing that even if its not perfect.

I saw mostly dunkirk, tenet, Oppenheimer, and interstellar in it

Have you even seen the movie? I don't think he did bad at all.

And he doesn't even have any 'push' behind him. He's not even that active movie wise.
If you said the push thing about someone like Timothee then I'd agree lol, they got that man in so many movies, dating a Kardashian, annoying marketing campaigns, in NBA stuff and even f***ing Kalshi ads 🤢 (been put off by him so much after it, Marty still a top 2 movie I've seen this year after this one though).
